Penn Singers Spring performance of Patience will be on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd! All the shows will be held at the Zellerbach Theater in the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 PM.

Audition, audition!

Love musical theatre? Come to Penn Singers' Spring Auditions!

Where: Platt Performing Arts House, Rooms 180
When: Sunday, January 13th from 7 to 10pm
Monday, January 14th from 5 to 8pm

What to prepare: Please prepare 16-32 measures of a song of your choice. We prefer musical theater or classical songs, but any song that shows off your vocal skill will do! The audition will include scales, your solo piece, and a short monologue that will be provided.
An accompanist will be available, but please bring your own sheet music.

Our rehearsal times for the year are Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6:30pm and Sunday 1-6pm. This semester's show is Patience by W.S. Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan.

We are happy to announce our production for this spring!

PATIENCE

We will also be bringing back Julie May as our artistic director and Florrie Marks as our musical director!

All the well-born young ladies in the village, rapturously caught up in aestheticism, are in love with two contrasting aesthetic poets --a "fleshy" poet and an "idyllic" poet. But the poets are both in love with Patience, the simple village milkmaid, who cares nothing for poetry. Patience learns that true love must be completely unselfish--it must wither and sting and burn! The girls' military suitors don't see the point to aesthetics, but they decide to give it a try to win the women's hearts. It is touch and go for awhile, but everyone ends up with a suitable partner, even if it is only a tulip or lily.
